Since its founding in 1982, RUSVM has graduated more than 3,800 veterinarians. RUSVM maintains a technologically advanced campus in St. Kitts. A visit to its campus will enlighten you to all that it has to offer: a broad-based curriculum that provides the foundation for an excellent education and entry into a variety of career pathways in veterinary medicine. The seven-semester pre-clinical curriculum is enhanced by hands-on clinical experience to help prepare you for the final year of clinical training at one of our affiliated veterinary schools in the U.S. Its faculty have outstanding credentials in teaching and research and share a passion for educating the veterinarians of tomorrow.
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine is proud to be affiliated with more than 20 American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited schools of veterinary medicine in the US, Canada, Australia and Ireland. This extensive network of affiliations makes it possible for students to receive superior education while completing their clinical training. Their roster of affiliated institutions includes many of the top veterinary schools in the world.
Accreditation
RUSVM is accredited by the AVMA Council on Education and the St. Christopher & Nevis Accreditation Board. Graduates are eligible to practice veterinary medicine in all of the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico and, as graduates of an AVMA-accredited foreign school, are not required to take foreign licensure examinations.
A Holistic Approach to Veterinary Medicine
At RUSVM, our approach is to look at applicants holistically–considering not only GRE scores and GPAs, but reviewing overall academic performance in context. What are students’ strengths and weaknesses? Is the desire to care for animals a calling? How has that calling been put into practice? What experiences have applicant had that would make for a better veterinarian?
To thrive as a profession, veterinary medicine needs many different kinds of people: general practitioners, specialists, researchers, administrators and more. At Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, finding students who have passion for the studies is what is desired.
