The Government has succeeded in creating an attractive investment climate through legislative reform, sound policies and careful planning. St. Kitts and Nevis continues to record strong annual growth in FDI even during the recession eras due to the Eastern Caribbean dollar being pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate of exchange. The currency is regulated by the Eastern Caribbean Currency Authority and has rallied successfully against several economic upsets and upswings within the hemisphere.
St. Kitts and Nevis enjoys a good standing in the international community and is a member of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Commonwealth, United Nations, the Organization of American States, CARICOM, Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, and the Association of Caribbean States.
